Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara (UAG) is a private medical school in Guadalajara, Mexico, that's been around for more than 70 years. Every semester, a group of about 200 Americans and Puerto Ricans enter the ranks of first-year medical students. The professors are top-notch and you'll use the same textbooks and teaching materials as your counterparts back in the United States.
Stafford loans are available, one of the very few foreign schools where this is true, because they are accredited by the U.S. Department of Education.
Classes are mostly in English for the first year and gradually transition to mostly Spanish. Clinical training is on campus in classes and students also work in one of 27 clinics owned by the school. Clinic work is in Spanish, is mandatory and is guaranteed to be an experience not to be forgotten, for all the right reasons.
