Determine which course you will write the curriculum for. Common course topics include introduction to nursing, pathology and pharmacology. Research accepted standards for the course for which you are designing curriculum. Seek university standards for nursing students and the content you're teaching.
Create course objectives -- these are the things you expect your students to learn through your course. Write a set of objectives related to the history of nursing and nursing theory. For example, if you are teaching a pathology course you might include objectives related to diseases, their effect on the body, and treatment and prevention.
Write lectures that introduce the information relating to your objectives. Create learning activities -- these can include homework, group-work in class, individual projects or in-class discussion -- that will help your students master and practice facility with the new information.
Write assessments that are specifically designed to evaluate the students' progress toward meeting the objectives for the course. Administer assessments at appropriate junctures in the class -- after you have delivered sufficient information and given the students opportunities to practice, understand and internalize that information through the learning activities.
