What gcses do you need to be a medical officer in the navy?

There isn't a specific GCSE requirement list published that guarantees entry to becoming a Medical Officer in the Navy. The path to becoming a Medical Officer requires a medical degree first, which necessitates far higher academic achievements than GCSEs.

While GCSEs are a prerequisite for further education leading to a medical degree, universities have their own entry requirements which typically involve:

* Strong GCSEs (or equivalent): Including typically good grades in science subjects (Biology, Chemistry, and often Physics) and Maths. The exact grades required vary significantly by university. A-Levels or the IB Diploma are far more important at this stage.

* A-Levels (or equivalent): Excellent grades in science subjects (Biology, Chemistry are essential; Physics is highly desirable) and often Maths are absolutely crucial for medical school entry.

* Medical Degree: Completion of a five or six-year medical degree is the fundamental requirement.

Once you have your medical degree, you then apply to the Royal Navy's medical branch. They will assess your qualifications and experience at that point, not your GCSEs. So while GCSEs are a stepping stone, they are not a direct entry requirement for the role itself.
