When was Philadelphia School of Anatomy created?

The Philadelphia School of Anatomy wasn't formally "created" in a single act, but rather evolved from the activities of Dr. William Shippen Jr. and Dr. John Morgan. They began offering private anatomy lectures and dissections in the early 1760s. While not a formally chartered institution at first, this marks the beginning of what would develop into the school that became part of the University of Pennsylvania.
