Can you be a surgical tech without an degree?
In most places, no, you cannot become a surgical technologist without at least a certificate or an associate's degree. While some entry-level positions might exist without formal education, those are rare and generally involve a lengthy apprenticeship or on-the-job training under strict supervision. The vast majority of employers require formal education and certification from an accredited program. This education provides the necessary knowledge and skills in sterile techniques, surgical instrumentation, and anatomy/physiology.
