Can you be a surgical tech without an degree?

In most places, no, you cannot become a surgical technologist without at least a certificate or an associate's degree. While some entry-level positions might exist without formal education, those are rare and generally involve a lengthy apprenticeship or on-the-job training under strict supervision. The vast majority of employers require formal education and certification from an accredited program.
