In India why do you not need to take medical courses become a doctor?

In India, you absolutely do need to take medical courses to become a doctor. There's no other path. To practice medicine legally in India, you must complete an approved medical degree, such as an MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) or equivalent, followed by potentially further specialization. There are no alternative routes to becoming a licensed physician.
