The Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU) has provided notice that the license of London St College will be suspended effective as of the close of business on July 31, 2021. The suspension will remain in effect until London St College has shown it meets all licensing criteria.
The MCU indicated that it is taking this step to protect students and the public because the college has significant and ongoing compliance challenges, including financial instability and concerns with its academic quality and leadership governance. As a result of the suspension, London St College will not be able to admit any new students or offer any new programs. Current students will be able to complete their programs, but the college will not be able to issue any new credentials.
The college had previously been issued with several compliance orders by the MCU, which it failed to meet. The MCU also conducted a special audit of the college, which found that there were significant concerns with the college's financial stability, management, and academic programs.
The MCU has indicated that it will work with the college to help it address its challenges and may lift the suspension if the college is able to meet all of the licensing criteria.
In the meantime, students who have been impacted by the suspension of London St College can contact the MCU's Student Support Office for assistance.
