Founded in 1980, the Touro College Law Center teaches both academic theory and legal practice, focusing on workings of the courts, court-related agencies and legal service providers. First-year students spend time in the Court Observation Program. More than 40 full-time members make up the faculty.

Hofstra University offers both J.D. and LL.M. degrees, as well as joint J.D./M.B.A. and joint J.D./M.A. programs. Founded in 1983, CUNY School of Law consistently is in the top 10 law schools in the country in clinical training in public interest law, according to "The National Jurist" magazine. Primarily focusing on this branch of law, the school hires professors and admits students who have demonstrated experience in this area.
