The Georgia Institute of Technology, also known as Georgia Tech, is one of the premier academic institutions in the world. The U.S. News & World Report Graduate School Listings rank it as the fourth best engineering school in the country. Georgia Tech offers two graduate degrees in electrical engineering, the Master of Science and the Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Both degrees can be taken with or without a thesis option, but the academic requirements are the same for both choices: 30 credits of graduate level-coursework completed with grades "C" or higher.

The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Southern Polytechnic State University offers a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology. The graduate program provides advanced training for graduate students who seek to extend their knowledge in modern electrical, electronic or computer technologies. Students can choose either project-based or research-based programs, which have similar academic requirements: 36 credit hours of graduate-level work with a grade of "C" or above. The project-based students take two project-related courses, whereas the research-based students take one research-based course to supplement the standard 36-credit program.

The Mercer University School of Engineering offers a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering. The graduate program is "characterized by the breadth and diversity of subject areas that comprise the discipline." Among the many different areas of study are the popular concentrations: electronic circuits, communication systems, digital computer systems, electromagnetics and digital signal processing. Courses in the master's program are taught on a three-year cycle and are available in the following four focus areas: communications, computer engineering, digital signal processing and electromagnetics.
