      Conduct an honest assessment of your academic strengths and weaknesses. Look through the transcripts of every college or university you've attended. Note every course you've taken both in the social sciences, as well as quantitative courses. Enroll in math, statistics and economics courses to fulfill your quantitative requirements if you don't have enough credits in those areas.

      Schedule a time to take the Graduate Management Aptitude Test. Enroll in a GMAT prep course well in advance of taking the exam. Study the examples for the analytical writing, quantitative and verbal portions of the exam one at a time.

      Choose the MBA concentration you plan to pursue. Universities with MBA programs offer such majors as marketing, accounting, entrepreneurship. Research programs that offer the major that will prepare you for your long-range career goals. Decide whether you will pursue a part-time or full-time curriculum and create a short list of the schools to which you'll apply.

      Read closely the application requirements for each business schools' MBA program. Submit all transcripts, letters of recommendations, essays and a resume. Research sources, both private and public, to finance your degree. Wait for approximately 90 days for the results of your application from your prospective schools.
