How to Get Accepted by Whittier College

      Fill out the online or paper version of the Common Application and the Common Application supplement attached to the application. Include the $50 application fee, payable by credit card online or a check or money order by mail. The application process includes an opportunity to elaborate on your extracurricular activities, a personal essay on a designated topic, personal information, future plans, a teacher evaluation and more. Be sure to highlight any community service projects you've been involved with and your personal achievements in the spaces provided.

      Request an academic recommendation letter from a current or former teacher along with additional recommendations from coaches, employers and Whittier alumni. The letters need to be original, sealed and addressed to the Whittier College Office of Admissions. Be sure you choose people who will provide you with glowing recommendations.

      Request that your advisor or counselor fill out the Counselor Evaluation form and send the top portion to Whittier College.

      Send any official transcripts of other secondary high schools you've attended to the Whittier College Office of Admissions. Transcripts should reflect courses completed through your junior year of high school and include any courses taken in the fall semester of your senior year.

      Submit your SAT I or ACT test results to Whittier College. The SAT school code for Whittier College is 4952 and the ACT code is 0480. You may enter the codes at the time of testing in the spaces provided, so your test results will be sent to Whittier College, or request additional copies after your results have been posted.
