How to Request Information About Spelman College

In 1989, astronaut Mae Jemison carried the Spelman College flag into space to honor a school that was established in 1881 to educate African American women who had few opportunities for advancement. Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia now accepts women of all races. U.S. News rates the college as "selective" and estimates that only 40 percent of applicants gained admission to Spelman in 2009. Approximately 87 percent of the 2,229 students receive financial aid. Students come from 41 different U.S. states and several foreign countries.

      Visit the Spelman College website. Click on the "Students" link in the top navigation bar. Select "Prospective." The New Student and Transfer Admission page will open.

      Click on the "Request Admissions Information" link under the "Prospective Students & Applicants" headline. The "Prospect Information Form" will open.

      Fill in the "Prospect Information Form" then click on "Submit."
