How to Transfer Credits From Community College of the Airforce to a University

While some students complete their entire higher education at one institution, others may choose to move from one college or university to another. In addition to physically moving, you also need to transfer your transcripts from your old institution to your new institution so you can receive credits for the classes you've already taken. The process of transferring credits from the Community College of the Airforce to another university is fairly standard.

Instructions

Contact your "new" university. To transfer the college credits you've already earned from the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF), you'll need to contact the university you've been accepted to to get the details on where to send your official transcripts. The name of this office may vary depending on the university you'll be attending; it may be the Admission Office, Student Services, the Registrars Office or something else. Speak with the individual who helped you enroll in your new university for more specific information.

Request a copy of your official transcript. This is a stamped transcript that will be sent directly from the CCAF to your new university. You may order your transcript online or over the phone. To order it online, visit the CCAF Online Transcript link in the resources section of its website. To order via phone, call the Credential Department at 1-800-466-1027.

Confirm receipt of your transcript by your new university. Contact the office where you sent it. Be aware that it may take seven to 10 days from the day you ordered it for it to arrive. This would also be a good time to confirm how many of your credits from CCAF transferred to your new university.
