You can apply online through the CUNY application system or using a paper application. Fall applicants should apply after Oct. 15. Spring applicants should apply after May 15 of the previous year.
Placement tests are one factor in admission to John Jay College of Criminal Justice. All students planning to attend John Jay must take the CUNY Assessment Tests. Students with an SAT score of 480 or better on the verbal section or a New York State English Regents score of 75 or higher may be exempt from taking the CUNY Reading and Writing Test. Students who have a math SAT score of 500 or higher or at least a 75 on the Math Regents may be exempt from taking the CUNY Math Placement Test.
Documentation required includes an official transcript from all high schools attended, official transcripts from all previous colleges attended (if you are a transfer student), SAT or ACT scores sent directly to the college, immunization records, and an application fee of $65 for freshman and $70 for transfer students. Checks should be made payable to UAPC; payments can be made via check, credit card, money order or CUNY fee waiver. Students requiring a fee waiver should contact their guidance counselor.
