How to Send My SAT Scores to the NCAA

High school seniors who plan on playing sports at a Division I or Division II school, are required to send the results of standardized test scores to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) to ensure that they meet student-athlete eligibility standards. College-bound athletes who have taken the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT), can arrange to have their scores sent to the NCAA when they register for the test or after they have taken the exam.

Instructions

  1. When Registering for the SAT

    • 1

Visit the SAT website (sat.collegeboard.org) and click "Register."

    • 2

Create an account by completing the registration, which asks you to provide your personal information, high school graduation date, email address and parent or guardian information.

    • 3

Register to take the SAT. In the section where it asks you for the codes of the colleges where you want your scores sent write "9999," which is the code for the NCAA Eligibility Center.

    After Taking the SAT

    • 4

Visit the SAT website and log in to your account.

    • 5

Access the "Send scores" section to request that your scores be sent to the NCAA.

    • 6

Pay the fee related to sending your score. If you have previously sent scores to four colleges but did not include the NCAA, your fee is $10.50 as of the date of this publication. Choose rush reporting, which costs $30 as of July 2011, to send the scores within two business days, by first-class mail or electronically. Acceptable methods of payment are checks, credit cards and money orders.
