Top 10 Graphics Art Colleges in the U.S.

Many of the nation's top ranked art schools offer undergraduate and graduate degree programs in graphic design and other graphic arts fields. In 2008, U.S. News & World Report compiled a ranking of graphic design programs based on a survey of graphic design program faculty. Schools appear on this list in the order of their rank.
  1. Rhode Island School of Design

    • Rhode Island School of Design, commonly referred to as RISD, offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in graphic design. Undergraduates can work toward a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in graphic design. The school offers a two-year MFA program for students who have completed undergraduate majors or degrees in graphic design, and a three-year MFA program for students without a graphic design background. All graduate students must complete individual thesis work. RISD ranked 1st overall in U.S. News & World Report's 2008 ranking of fine arts graduate schools.

Unlike many other art schools, Carnegie Mellon offers doctoral degree programs in design in addition to masters degree programs.
