"U.S. News and World Report" recently ranked Arizona State University 121st among all universities in the United States. Established in 1885, Arizona State University has more than 52,000 undergraduate students. The school's highest-rated undergraduate programs are in architecture, engineering and business, while its largest major programs are in psychology and journalism. Internships and study abroad opportunities are offered in most of its undergraduate programs. The university also sponsors 21 intercollegiate and 50 intramural sports teams, and students can join one of the more than 50 Greek organizations or 550 student activities available.

The university's undergraduate social science programs are among its largest and highest-rated, and include anthropology, economics, consumer studies, history, philosophy, geography, political science, psychology, public administration, theology and women's studies. Established in 1949, Grand Canyon University is a private Christian college not affiliated with any one denomination. The university's Phoenix-based campus is home to more than 9,700 undergraduate students. The largest and highest-rated undergraduate academic programs are in education, business and nursing. All students at the college must complete a minimum of six credit hours of Christian studies coursework and attend chapel weekly. The school offers internship placements throughout the Phoenix area, as well as international study abroad and mission opportunities. There are also 16 intercollegiate sports teams and more than 12 student groups to join on campus.
