List of Accredited Universities in Arizona

The state of Arizona is home to a number of public and private universities, which offer a variety of accredited degree programs. These institutions provide students with learning opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom.
  1. Arizona State University

    • "U.S. News and World Report" recently ranked Arizona State University 121st among all universities in the United States. Established in 1885, Arizona State University has more than 52,000 undergraduate students. The school's highest-rated undergraduate programs are in architecture, engineering and business, while its largest major programs are in psychology and journalism. Internships and study abroad opportunities are offered in most of its undergraduate programs. The university also sponsors 21 intercollegiate and 50 intramural sports teams, and students can join one of the more than 50 Greek organizations or 550 student activities available.

    University of Arizona

    • The University of Arizona was founded in 1885, and since that time has grown to include more than 29,000 undergraduate students. The school was recently ranked 102nd among all national universities by "U.S. News and World Report." The university's undergraduate social science programs are among its largest and highest-rated, and include anthropology, economics, consumer studies, history, philosophy, geography, political science, psychology, public administration, theology and women's studies. The school offers internships and paid work opportunities for most majors, as well as a variety of study abroad programs. More than 50 Greek organizations, 19 intercollegiate sports teams and 430 student groups are represented on campus as well.

    Grand Canyon University

    • Established in 1949, Grand Canyon University is a private Christian college not affiliated with any one denomination. The university's Phoenix-based campus is home to more than 9,700 undergraduate students. The largest and highest-rated undergraduate academic programs are in education, business and nursing. All students at the college must complete a minimum of six credit hours of Christian studies coursework and attend chapel weekly. The school offers internship placements throughout the Phoenix area, as well as international study abroad and mission opportunities. There are also 16 intercollegiate sports teams and more than 12 student groups to join on campus.
