According to "U.S. News & World Report," Vanderbilt University is one of the top 20 universities in the United States, and according to Vanderbilt's website, it is one of only three of the top 20 schools to offer "an accredited and acclaimed undergraduate school of music." The Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt offers conservative-quality music training and is very selective in its admissions. As a result, the school has a small faculty to student ratio (4:1). For those interested in double majors, the school's admissions website notes that some students use Vanderbilt's strong foundation in the liberal arts to study other fields in addition to music.
