Among Stanford University School of Engineering's eight diverse undergraduate degree tracks are programs in atmospheric engineering, engineering physics, product design and biomedical computation. The school also allows students to propose their personal course of study via the Individually Designed Major (IDM) track. Past IDMs at Stanford have included computer graphics, biomedical informatics and economic systems engineering. Graduate and doctoral engineering programs also are offered. The Stanford Graduate Fellowships program awards approximately 100 scholarships annually that connect honor students with some of the most advanced engineering research facilities in the world.

The College of Engineering at UC Berkeley is divided into seven independent departments that offer a distinct engineering focus.
