Employment of physical therapists is projected to grow 30 percent from 2008 to 2018, much faster than average, says the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Those interested in the profession will need a master's or doctorate degree from an accredited program. There were more than 200 physical therapy education programs in the United States as of 2009, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Some of these programs appear at the top of the "U.S. News & World Report" ranking of top physical therapy schools.
