Louisiana Tech University School of Art offers an undergraduate program in communication design. The program combines a comprehensive applied-arts and technical foundation with conceptualization and project-development strategies. Coursework covers 3-D design, figure drawing, typography and print production, as well as a historical survey of commercial and graphic design through a study of ad campaigns. Louisiana State University offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in graphic design. LSU's undergraduate graphic design program is built on a curriculum of courses surveying typography and print design as well as graphic identity-creation strategies and branding concepts. Louisiana College offers a bachelor's degree path in Web and graphic design. Students hone their artistic aptitude and technical skills through a curriculum of 78 hours of art courses which also includes 15 hours art history. The school's Weathersby Fine Arts building houses a wide variety of studios for painting and printmaking. Louisiana College graduates have gone on to careers as studio and commercial artists and educators. Coursework includes Web design, multimedia and advanced painting.

Northwestern State University of Louisiana's Bachelor of Fine Arts degree program in graphic communication is instructed by industry-certified faculty.
