Elgin Community College was originally founded in 1949. This 145-acre campus located between Chicago and Rockford, Illinois boasts more than 16,000 students. From obtaining your GED, to getting an associate's degree, to even obtaining a full bachelor's degree, Elgin Community College offers study in the ares of science, technology, liberal arts, mathematics and technical programs just to name a few. Waubonsee Community College allows students to gain collegiate credits that they can then use to transfer to a university to obtain a four-year degree. They also offer non-degree courses for students looking to merely enhance their education. Academic disciplines include business and information systems, science, mathematics, social sciences, education, humanities and fine arts just to name a few. As of June, 2010, tuition ranges from $85 per semester hour to just under $300 depending on residency and the type of course you will be taking. Waubonsee also offers online courses as well.
