St. Gregory's University (SGU) in Shawnee, Oklahoma, is another small Catholic university offering an assortment of degree programs. The university was founded in 1875 by Benedictine monks. Today, the institution serves the educational needs of about 700 undergraduate students. One of the hallmarks of St. Gregory's is its College for Working Adults. Students take classes one night per week in five week blocks while performing a number of group tasks and projects outside of class in order to account for the other half of the coursework. In this way, the courses are a blend of self-study and instructor led courses designed to accommodate working adults who need the flexibility of attending class once per week. SGU also has a campus for working adults in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the state's second largest metropolitan center. Of the 600 undergraduate students, approximately 300 are served through the Tulsa campus. The university offers associate's, bachelor's and master's degrees in various fields, many of which are business-related.
