Based in the town of Princeton, New Jersey, Princeton University employs just over 1,100 members of faculty, with an impressive staff to student ratio of 5:1. The California Institute of Technology, also known as Caltech, ranks fourth in the United States and 10th in the world, according to the "U.S. News & World Report" and Times Higher Education Supplement surveys. Based in Pasadena, Caltech focuses on science and technology, and aims to expand knowledge and benefit society through its research in these areas. Its faculty include 32 Nobel Prize winners and 54 recipients of the National Medal of Science. More than 2,000 students are enrolled at Caltech each year.
