Community colleges are educational institutions that offer vocational courses and special programs. These community colleges grant students certificates, associate’s degrees, bachelor’s degrees or diplomas. Students can take numerous course programs and finish them in two to four years, depending on the course load. Community colleges in Poland offer agricultural studies, life sciences, environmental sciences and many more.

Most of the students who study at the community college major in courses such as civil engineering, machinery construction, mechanical engineering and agriculture. 7 departments make up the college – Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Animal Breeding and Biology, Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Chemical Technology and Engineering, Institute of Mathematics and Physics and Faculty of Telecommunications and Electrical Engineering.

    University of Life Sciences in Lublin

    • University of Life Sciences in Lublin, a higher education institution, opened its doors in 1944. The community college has 7 faculties including the Faculty of Agrobioengineering, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Biology and Animal Breeding, Faculty of Horticulture, Faculty of Production Engineering, Faculty of Food Science and Biotechnology; and the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences in Zamosc. The college also offers extra-curricular opportunities for students. They have a physical education and sports centre and a centre of rural culture and folklore. Students can also join groups like the life sciences choir and the folk song and dance group called ‘Jawor’.

    University of Agriculture in Szczecin

    • University of Agriculture in Szczecin has four colleges – Agriculture, Marine Fisheries and Food Technology, Animal Husbandry and Economics and Food Production Management. Courses available include specialist courses, extramural studies and stationary studies. The university is open to international students but they have to enroll in Polish for Foreigners if not fluent in the Polish language. University of Agriculture in Szczecin offers financial assistance including the social scholarship for students who come from low-income families, the scientific scholarship for students who get grades higher than 4.0 and some scholarship grants from the Ministry of Higher Education.
