Schools That Offer Transfer from LPN to RN or BSN Programs

Licensed practical nurses (LPNs) are entry-level nurses who help physicians and other nurses with basic patient care. Students typically qualify as LPNs by taking a certificate-level course at a vocational or career school. However, registered nurses (RNs) have more training (an associate or bachelor's degree) and tend to make a lot more money than LPNs. This is why many colleges offer advanced-placement transition, or bridge programs, to allow LPNs to take the extra training to become RNs. LPN-to-RN programs are typically associate's degree programs (A.S.N.), while LPN-to-B.S.N. programs culminate in a bachelor's degree (B.S.N.--more training, higher qualifications for the RN).
