Landscape Architect Schools

Landscape Architecture bachelor and graduate degrees are offered at colleges and universities throughout the United States. The fundamental concepts of landscape architecture includes planning, designing and shaping the physical environment. Landscape architects work in a variety of environments including urban settings, rural settings, college campuses, golf courses and resorts, to name a few.
  1. Clemson University

    • The Landscape Architecture program at Clemson University offers a three-year bachelor's degree. Students must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from an accredited college or university. Students complete a total of 90 credit hours to earn the degree. Clemson also offers a two-year program. In order to enter this program, students must have a five-year bachelor of architecture or a bachelor of science in Landscape Architecture. Upon completing the two-year program, students earn a master's degree in Landscape Architecture. Students complete a total of 42 credit hours and a thesis project.

    Boston Architectural College

    • The Landscape Architecture degree program at Boston Architectural College offers students a bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA) and a master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) degree. The BLA degree program has a total of 171 credit hours that can be completed in six years, including summer courses. The MLA program has a total of 141 credit hours that can be completed in five years, including summer courses.

    Harvard University

    • The Landscape Architecture department of Harvard University offers students a PhD in Landscape Architecture, Architecture or Urban Planning. This degree is especially for students seeking to teach in a university setting or to conduct advanced research. The PhD program encapsulates the history and theory of landscape architecture, architecture, urban analysis and development of cities and regional issues such as ecological, transportation and infrastructure systems.

      To enter the program, students must have a four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in landscape architecture, architecture, or urban planning. Students are required to write a dissertation and complete at least two years of full-time residency.
