Colleges for the Ministry in Tacoma, Washington

The city of Tacoma is home to three such colleges, each preparing students for entry into ministry for different Christian religious groups.

Open to both men and women, the latter program requires students to take classes in Greek and Hebrew as well as counseling, pastoral care, anthropology, religious literature and philosophy. Students in the program also study the Bible extensively.

Northwest Baptist seminary also offers master's degrees in theology, certificate programs for those who do not wish to complete a full master's program and a Ph.D. in divinity. Federal financial aid, veteran's benefits and institutional scholarships are available for eligible students. Approximately 80 percent of the seminary's graduates become full-time pastors or work in other full-time capacities related to ministry in the Baptist church, according to the college's website.
