Digital radiography training introduces students to basic, intermediate and advanced electronic medical imaging procedures, corrosion and condition monitoring, and flaw detection in digital images. Students also learn radiography film archival techniques, principles of tangential radiography, and image interpretation.
Course length varies depending on the subject matter. Certain specialty training within the field, such as the Radiograph Film Digitization and Archiving course offered by Computerized Information Technology, Ltd., lasts four days. Other classes, such as the Digital Radiography Theory and Practice course from The South West School of Non-destructive Testing, lasts one day.
The cost of training varies with the level of instruction and subject matter covered, but as of October, 2010, the DR/Realtime X-ray with Intro to Computed Tomography (CT) class from North Star Imaging cost $950.
