Tennessee Independent Home Study Programs

The volunteer state is home to many reputable schools. Whether you are looking into independent study for a child or for yourself at the college level, Tennessee has many different options to choose from. Independent study can offer a flexible schedule for those who work full-time jobs or have children, or for parents who prefer to homeschool their children. An independent study program can also complement a gifted child's academic program by allowing him or her to excel at a faster rate, or it can be beneficial to children who may not be able to attend school due to health reasons.

    • The University of Tennessee offers both independent and distance education programs. The independent study offers online courses and correspondent courses that can be delivered to the address of the student.
