Tourism and hotel management is a college degree program for students who want to work in the hospitality field. Tourism and hotel management graduates work in and manage hotels, restaurants and the cruise industry. The pay scale varies widely based on the position you hold. However, the potential for advancement in this industry is almost unlimited.

      Earn your associates degree. You can have either an Associate in Arts or an Associate in Science degree to apply for your bachelor's program in the tourism and hotel management field. Associate degrees are typically two-year degrees obtained by taking 60 credit hours of classes in the mandatory fields at any college.

      Enroll in the tourism and hotel management program at your college. Do this by visiting your college career counselor and speaking to him about your degree aspirations. Your counselor will provide you with information regarding the program, such as mandatory classes, the number of credit hours you are required to obtain, and the cost of tuition.

      Sign up for classes in the field. Colleges around the United States allow students to enroll in courses in a variety of ways: online or in person. Begin taking your classes. You must maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average to graduate.
