Take fewer classes per semester. Taking fewer classes will allow you to spend more time on each class that you do take.
Talk to a counselor. NVCC requires anyone on academic probation to meet with a counselor until he or she is taken off of probation.
Hire a tutor. Tutors can help you raise your grades by increasing your understanding of different subjects. Raising your grades requires doing all of the class work and getting good grades on your tests. A tutor teaches students one-on-one, which encourages questions for further understanding.
Raise your grades above a 1.5 grade point average. The only way off of academic probation at NVCC is to rise above the 1.5 GPA mark. However, the college suggests getting your grades up to a 2.0 GPA for graduation.
