Oklahoma Massage Schools

Massage schools provide required study and hands-on experience to become a qualified massage therapist. Massage has grown from being available in spas to also recognized as an important part of health and healing. Therapeutic massage has useful applications in physical therapy, senior care and chiropractic medicine. The majority of Oklahoma massage schools is located in Oklahoma City and provides a range of education experiences.
  1. Brookline College

    • Formally called AIBT, Brookline College was founded in 1979 as a business and technical school. In 2010, Brookline College purchased Oklahoma Technical Institute, located in Oklahoma City. The college also has additional campuses in Arizona. The Oklahoma City campus is accredited by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education. Brookline College offers a diploma program in professional therapeutic massage. The program consists of 51 weeks of study with a minimum attendance of 16 hours per week. The college participates in the federal financial aid program.

    Central State Massage Academy

    • Central State Massage Academy is located in Oklahoma City and is part of the Central State Beauty Academy. This school has been under its present ownership since 1973. The program meets the standards set by national certification by the NCBTMB and most state requirements toward licensing. Central State Massage Academy offers two programs: professional therapeutic massage lasting, 20 weeks; and advanced therapeutic massage, lasting 30 weeks. The academy is a participant of the federal financial aid program.

    Praxis College

    • Located in Oklahoma City, Praxis College began as a certification course offered at St. Anthony Hospital during the 1960's. In 1987, the program was purchased as Praxis College. It is accredited by the state through the Oklahoma Board of Private Vocational Schools. Praxis College offers a 64-week program of study in which the first 16 weeks leads to a license as a massage therapist in Oklahoma City. After completing the second 16 weeks, an Associate in Massage Technology Diploma is awarded along with state licensing and qualification to take the National Certification Exam for Massage. The remaining studies focus on specialty massage techniques. This school offers interest free loans and grants in addition to participating in federal financial aid.

    Heritage College

    • Heritage College has eight campuses across the United States, including one in Oklahoma City. The college offers eight areas of study including a diploma as a massage therapist. This program is available on campus, or students may choose to attend classes online with a hands-on labs at the campus one day a week. Heritage College is accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools. Federal financial aid is available for qualifying students and each campus provides financial aid advising.
