Add simulations into your nursing Flexnet or flexible course design-style class while you are developing the syllabus for the class. For a nursing classthat lasts between 10 and 12 weeks, it is a good idea to have no more than three simulations. Make sure that they correspond to the exact subject of the nursing class.
Create the simulations online for the best results. Flexnet students will be doing their homework at home and working independently so the simulations should be online. These simulations can be computer games that simulate the nursing environment, a computer-based test that measures their knowledge of a specific subject or a computer-based simulation to show the students things like CPR, first aid or another subject.
Create offline simulations, such as disaster simulations, hospital work simulations or triage simulations, in a different manner for Flexnet and flexible course design-style class students. Regular classroom students might have these simulations during classroom time. However, for students in these flexible programs, you must offer the offline simulations at several different times, such as during regular class hours, in the afternoon, in the evening, and on a weekend. Because Flexnet students cannot be required to come to campus for a simulation, you must offer another choice for students, such as a computer simulation or a project or paper they can do in place of the simulation if they don't choose to come to the simulation and participate.
