Begin with a heading at the top of the page that states your full name, Social Security number or applicant number if you have been assigned one, your address and a phone number. Put each piece of information on a separate line. You can list this information on the right margin of the page or center it. Consider using a larger font or bold text.
Include a brief biography about yourself after your personal information. Three sentences will suffice to highlight your strongest attributes. For example, if you were class valedictorian, you should include it in this overview. You want to use this section to grab the reader's attention and make them want to continue reading.
List your education. The name of your high school and its address should be included, your GPA and your class ranking by percentile or number. Other pertinent academic information should go in this section with the exception of academic awards which will be listed later.
Illustrate to the reader your activities during high school. Examples include club membership, sports participation and community activities. You can complete this section in list form with one or two sentences detailing each activity. Include at least three or four activities, but no more than eight.
Include a special projects section. While this section is similar to activities, it should consist of things you did only a few times such as entering a science fair. This section can also be in list format with a few sentences explaining each point. If you do not have strong items to include in this section, then omit it.
Create a section showcasing awards you have received. You can create a simple list for this section or embellish each award, particularly those needing clarification. Include a variety of awards received, whether through school or in other activities.
