Degrees in Mythology

Students learn more than just studying fairytales and learning about hocus pocus when they earn a degree in mythology. Trained folklorists and mythology graduates can explore a variety of career options. There are teachers, researchers, museum workers, medical and business professionals that have degrees in mythology. Many different colleges located worldwide offer degrees in mythology, so there are several options for students.
  1. Engaged Humanities and the Creative Life

    • The Pacifica Graduate Institute in Carpinteria, Calif., has a degree program in mythology titled "Engaged Humanities and the Creative Life." This M.A. program provides education in humanities informed by both mythology and deep psychology. This program is an online hybrid degree program, meaning some classes are offered online and others are taken on campus.

    M.A./Ph.D Mythological Studies

    • The Pacifica Graduate Institute also offers two degree programs titled "Mythological Studies." This doctorate program first awards the M.A. degree after two years. Students then complete additional coursework to earn their Ph.D. Students enrolled in this degree program learn about mythology and religious traditions, depth psychology and research as well as myth, literature and culture.

    Religious Studies and Theology
