Add non-perishable healthy snacks to your care package box. Send items, such as granola bars, dried fruit, protein bars and trail mix. These snacks are a healthy alternative compared to the sugary sweets in most college vending machines. Make sure to choose foods with expiration dates well into the future.
Add personal hygiene products to the care package box. Send anti-bacterial hand sanitizers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, sterile bandages, antibacterial creams, antibacterial soaps, cleaning products and a first-aid kit. Sending these types of items is appreciated because these are items students need to have on hand.
Add new bedding items to the care package. Send plenty of new bed sheets, pillow cases and blankets. If there is a department store or bedding store where the student goes to college, send a gift card.
Add school supply items to the package. Items sold in in campus supply stores can be very expensive. Send plenty of pencils, pens, erasers, notebook paper, highlighters, tape and paper clips. If there is a large chain office supply store near the college, send a gift card.
Add recreational items to the box. Send fun things such as video games, DVDs and music CDs. You can also send them online gift cards, so they can order their favorite recreational items online and have them sent directly.
