JMLS, which was founded in 1933, offers its students a part-time evening program that can be completed in four years and is accredited by the American Bar Association. Prospective students must possess an undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university. In addition to a bachelor's degree, admissions officers also consider student's LSAT scores and college GPA.
Georgia State University (GSU) located in downtown Atlanta is known as one of the top urban research institutions in the nation. GSU's College of Law has been offering day and evening classes to its students since 1982. Accredited by the American Bar Association, GSU offers a high quality yet affordable legal education to a diverse population of students. Prospective students must have an undergraduate degree and at least a 3.42 GPA as well as a minimum score of 159 on the LSAT. Admissions officers also require a personal statement to be included with the application.
Florida Coastal School of Law is an American Bar Association accredited university located in Jacksonville, Florida. With a driving distance of an estimated 38 miles outside of St. Mary's, Georgia, Florida Coastal offers full and part-time day and evening classes for its students. Florida Coastal boasted a student bar exam pass rate of 83 percent in 2009. Prospective students must submit their LSAT scores as well as college transcripts. Two letters of recommendation and a personal statement is also required to be submitted for admission consideration.
In order to be considered for admission to law school, day or evening, prospective students must furnish their LSAT scores. To assist in this process, the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) offers the Credential Assembly Service (CAS) report. This reports combines all of a student's college transcripts transcript information along with LSAT scores and writing samples. LSAC also offers students the option of sending electronic applications to different law schools with their report. Many American Bar Association accredited schools require the use of the CAS for admission. Users should be aware that there is a one time $124 fee to use the Credential Assembly Service for 5 years. Fee waivers may be available.
