Press the "On" button to turn on your TI calculator. When you turn it on for the first time, you will see the main home screen appear. This is the screen where you can enter in an equation that you wish to solve. Pressing the "Graph" button will bring you to the graphing function, where you can see visualizations of your work. Press the "2nd" button, followed by the "On" button to turn off the calculator.
Press any of the number buttons on the keypad to begin entering in an equation while in the main screen. Use the operation buttons such as "+" and "x" to enter them into the equation. When finished, press the "Enter" button to solve the equation. On the screen, you will see the equation you entered on the top line, followed by the solution on a second line.
Use the advanced scientific functions of the calculator to add items to the equation. For example exponents, fractions, sin and cosine all have respective buttons that you can use to perform these tasks. You can even use the parenthesis buttons to create brackets within an equation. Pressing the "Sto" button will save whatever is on the screen into memory, which you can recall by pressing the "2nd" and "Sto" button.
Press the "y=" button to begin graphing your equations. You will see screen with several lines of "y=." Use the keypad to enter an equation you want the calculator to graph, using the "x" button to enter the "x" variable where necessary. Pressing the "Graph" button will show a line representing the relationship between "y" and "x" in your equation.
