Does Harvard give away scholarships to applicants?

Harvard University does not offer scholarships in the traditional sense of a separate application and award. Instead, Harvard is need-blind for both domestic and international applicants, meaning they don't consider your financial need when evaluating your application for admission. If admitted, they then determine your financial need and offer a generous financial aid package (a combination of grants, loans, and work-study) to ensure that admitted students can attend regardless of their family's ability to pay. This financial aid is essentially a scholarship in function, as it doesn't need to be repaid (the grant portion), but it's not called a "scholarship" in their application process.
