Notify the current and new school of the transfer in writing and in person. The new school must have all the information of any financial aid, scholarships or grants being received.
It may be necessary to reapply for certain loans through the new school's financial aid office. You also may be eligible to apply for any new loans or scholarships that may be available at your new school. Check with the financial aid department for all the listings.
Contact your lender to notify them of your plans to transfer to a different school. Give the lender the name and address of the new school. They will also need the approximate graduation date in order to set up a repayment plan.
Send a signed letter verifying your enrollment to the lender from your new school. It is best to do this as early as possible to ensure a prompt transaction of the loans between the schools.
