Why does winning the Nobel Prize earn more than Pulitzer Prize?

Winning the Nobel Prize and the Pulitzer Prize does not come with any monetary reward. Both awards recognize outstanding achievements in their respective fields. The monetary benefits or lack thereof associated with these prizes do not determine their significance or prestige.
