How to solve long critical reading questions on the SAT

For some, the long critical reading questions can come easy. For most, it's one of the hardest section to improve in a short amount of time. With practice, patience, and persistence, you can succeed in this difficult section.

      Skim through the questions and find the ones that give you a line number. Go back to the passage and mark or underline those lines. This is so that when you read the passage, you will know what to pay attention to. Also, this will help you to find it quicker whenever you have to refer back to these lines when answering This step should take very fast - less than one minute.

      Read the italicized introduction to the reading passage. This will give you an idea of what it's going to be about and prepare your mind for it. Your mind can process information much better when it knows what to expect, so please don't skip this step.

      Read the first paragraph carefully. After that, skim through the passage, only paying special attention to the parts that you marked.

      Answer the questions. If it gives you a line number, refer back to that section on the reading passage. Read the sentence before and after those lines. Also, wse the process of elimination.
