The average high school GPA of incoming freshmen at WSSU is 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale). The middle 50% range of SAT scores for incoming freshmen is 480-580 for Math, and 490-610 for Evidence-Based Reading and Writing.
Applicants with a GPA below 3.0 may be considered for admission if they have a high SAT or ACT score, or if they have a strong extracurricular record. Applicants with a GPA below 2.5 are not eligible for admission.
In addition to GPA and SAT scores, WSSU also considers the following factors in admissions decisions:
- Class rank
- Rigor of high school coursework
- Letters of recommendation
- Personal statement
- Extracurricular activities
- Work experience
- Community service
