What percentage of GCSE papers are re-marked by request?

Only a small number of GCSE papers are re-marked by request, typically around 0.5% to 1% of all papers. This is because the marking process is very thorough, and the chances of a mistake being made are very small. However, if a student or teacher believes that a mistake has been made, they can request a re-mark. The re-mark will be carried out by a different examiner, and the student will be informed of the outcome.
