Read for at least 15 minutes a day. Many of the questions on the Stanford Achievement Test involve reading and comprehension. So if children are able to do them both well, they're on their way to improving their score. Even reading the newspaper or a magazine is a good way to improve your child's test score.
Get a good night's sleep the night before test day. A child is able to comprehend more and work faster if he's well-rested. Also, your child's brain is more alert when it's functioning on a full night's sleep.
Eat a good breakfast before school and take with a snack for between the testing time. Not only is your child better able to focus on the Stanford Achievement Test instead of being hungry, but breakfast also gives his brain the energy that it needs to function at full capacity.
Dress in layers on the day of the Stanford Achievement Test. It's easier for your child to take off a sweatshirt or put on a sweater than to focus on the test when she's cold or hot.
