How to Find TAKS Objectives for Inferences for the Eighth Grade

The Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) is based on a statewide curriculum known as the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). This curriculum dictates a specific set of objectives for each subject tested at each grade level. For the eighth grade TAKS, teachers must prepare students to take tests in math, reading, science and social studies. All of these subjects require an understanding of how to make inferences and draw conclusions based on the material presented. To help eighth grade teachers understand the teaching objectives for these subjects the Texas Education Agency (TEA) supplies a complete TEKS curriculum, as well as grade and subject specific study guides.
