Preparing to score the test

  Administer each cluster of tests according to test instructions.

  Score each item response as you administer the test; write a "1" for correct responses and a "0" for incorrect responses.

  Write any comments and incorrect responses for later verification if necessary.

Scoring the Word Identification and Word Attack

  1. Add up all of the correct responses (the "1"s) for each test; write this number down.

  Add all of the items below the basal for each subtest; write this number down.

  Add your results from the test's step #4 and step #5 together. This is the raw score for word identification and word attack.

Scoring the Word Comprehension

  Add up all of the correct responses (the "1"s) for each subtest (antonyms, synonyms, and analogies); write this number down.

• 8

  Add all of the items below the basal (these are items that you did not administer because of the grade/age level of the examinee) for each subtest; write this number down.

  Add your results from the test's step #4 and step #5 together. This is the raw score for word comprehension.

Scoring the Passage Comprehension

  Add up all of the correct responses (the "1"s) for this test; write this number down. This is the raw score for passage comprehension.
