What does double science mean in GCSE?

In GCSE, double science refers to studying two science subjects as separate GCSE qualifications, rather than taking a single science GCSE.

The two science subjects are usually Biology and Chemistry, and sometimes Physics.

Double science is often taken by students who are interested in pursuing further studies in science-related fields, or who simply want a more in-depth understanding of science.
