Much of the year is spent covering the specification. There will be some assessment, but typically less high-stakes than in Year 11.
* Year 11: This year is heavily focused on exam preparation and revision. While some new content might be introduced to consolidate understanding, the main emphasis is on practicing past papers, tackling exam-style questions, and refining exam technique. The majority of formal assessments, including mock exams and the actual GCSE exams, take place in Year 11.
